School
Well I am back in school now and I am having a tough go at it. I hope my problems are just temporary and go away quickly, but I promised myself that I was do my best. I will keep praying that things get better with my school work as well as home life.

Justice?
My comment today is one of frustration! At times I don't understand the Justice system. A few of my partners and I have been so busy recently taking burglary reports that we decided to dig a little further. Our investigation lead us to a group of teenagers whom we suspected were breaking into homes in the area that we patrol. Well our suspicions were confirmed when we received a tip that the teens we were investigating, were inside a vacant residence. When we arrived all the teens ran out of the back door, we gave chase on foot and caught two of them about 1/2 mile later. Both teens had several charges and I expected our problem with burglaries to cease. Before I could get my report called in (literally 45 minutes later), I received a radio dispatched run telling me to notify one of the teens mother, that I had just locked up, to come to the Juvenile Center and pick her son up. Apparently the counselors at the juvenile facility were unable to reach her by telephone. I did as I was requested, and the teen that I had chased for one half of a mile, through fields, and over fences, was at home enjoying lemonade while I still had 2 hours left on my shift. Oh, did I mention that I ripped my uniform shirt in the process? This wasn't the first time that something like this has happened to me, in fact it happens all the time. What bothered me this time was the fact that so many people in this particular neighborhood helped out with this investigation. My partners and I invested a lot of time both department time and personal time. Actually that tip we received came to an off duty officer, from a resident in the area, to his personal cell phone. Who says that officers aren't dedicated? Until next time, Later!

One Tough Day!
One of the toughest moments of my life occurred on Thursday July 10, 2008. During the early evening hours my partner and I backed on to an in-progress vehicle chase. Just as we were arriving on scene, the vehicle chase turned into a foot pursuit. Gun fire was exchanged and in the aftermath, a friend of mine, a fellow police officer, was severely wounded. What followed was a series of mixed emotions. In just a brief period time I was angry, sad, lost, frustrated, proud, and even felt like giving up. Still, one of the things bothering me is the the fact that I could have been the person shot. As police officers, we have vehicle chases and foot pursuits all the time, they're a part of our job. That being said, and contrary to popular belief, police officers don't get paid to get hurt! That is why it hurts so much when one of our own is injured in the line of duty. As I stated before I actually backed on to this run while it was still a car chase and at the time shots were fired I was on foot chasing this suspect as well. It could have been me! After all was said and done, all I could do was thank God for his protection. This wasn't the only time that God had seen me through a tough situation, there have been others many others. And with his grace and mercy upon me, there will be many more. So as my friend and fellow brother in blue lay in a hospital bed fighting for his life, I pray that God will see him through his tough situation! Until next time, later and God bless.

Kids!
I got a "suspicious persons" run last night near the end of my shift. When I got to my run, I observed 17 teenagers pushing a car down the street. By the way, none of the teens were over 17. I asked them what they were doing and they told me that the owner of the vehicle, one of the teens older brother, paid them twenty dollars to push the car back home. Now by my calculations, that's a little more than one dollar per person. When I asked them why it took so many to push this small car they told me that the steering wheel was locked so they had to physically lift the rear of the car to keep the vehicle on a straight path. From our conversation I found out that they had pushed the car for more then five blocks when I stopped them. As our conversation progressed I also learned that one of the teens had a pick-up truck with a tow bar and a rope. After I laughed at them for five minutes (literally) I informed them how to place the key in the ignition, unlock the steering wheel, and place the vehicle's transmission in neutral. Now instead of 17 kids they only needed 3, two to push and one to steer. Oh, did I mention, that they completely destroyed the vehicle's transmission and suspension trying to push the car while it was in park? The moral to this story is: You get what you pay for! The owner of this vehicle paid his brother twenty dollars to push his car a total of 8 city blocks because the vehicle died on him on his way home from work. By doing this, he saved himself $50 bucks by not hiring a professional wrecker service. Well big brother I hope your job gives overtime freely, because you're gonna need it! Until next time, later!

Movie Review #1
Okay, so my wife and I went and saw Hancock yesterday. I have to say that I wasn't impressed. The beginning of the movie was alright and even a little funny. But, as the film went on, I found myself getting sleepy. Now I am an action type of guy and I must say that this wasn't one of Smith's best. I had high hopes and the Fresh Prince let me down. Needless to say, I probably won't be adding this movie to the dvd collection. Until next time, later!
First Time!
Hello! This is my first blog, my first time posting anything on the internet, and my first "official" web page. I actually wanted to start a blog because I always seem to have things on my mind that I would love to write down. Now it seems that I can't think of anything to write. Go figure! My goal is to briefly record some of the things that I see and hear on any given day so that I may, someday, write a book. The funny thing is, I am so afraid of writing something on this blog that may sound gay! For that reason, don't expect to see any "feelings" expressed on this blog. Okay, it looks like I have written one half of a paragraph. Sweet! Now I feel a little better. This wasn't so bad after all, maybe I can make this work. Until next time, Later!
